At GAASCH PACKAGING, we believe in doing business with a sense of responsibility. As a family business with a history spanning more than 100 years, we have been committed to good governance, respect for people and sustainable relationships for generations. A year and a half ago, we further concretised these values in an ambitious sustainability programme that focuses on sustainable development in the broadest sense of the word.
The increasing focus on the circular economy, stricter European regulations (such as the PPWR) and concrete expectations from the market make sustainability a strategic theme. Not only for ourselves, but for our entire value chain.
We combine our role as an independent distribution partner with a healthy desire and ambition to actively contribute to solutions. We do this by systematically working on measurable improvements.
Our course: SDGs as a guide

Overview of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations
To embed our sustainability strategy, we have consciously chosen to adopt the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These provide international, objective guidelines for measuring our impact, setting priorities and taking action.
We focus with Gaasch Packaging on following five SDGs that are relevant to our sector and our business reality to maximise our impact:
SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and production
The core of our strategy. As a link between producers and customers, we play an active role in making primary packaging more sustainable. We advise customers on choosing future-proof solutions and translate market insights to our producers to stimulate innovation.
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the goals
We cannot achieve sustainability alone. We build sustainable relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues, and put collaboration at the heart of our approach. Our role as a distributor is to connect — and that also applies to our sustainability ambitions.
SDG 9 – Industry, innovation and infrastructure
We believe in innovation as a driver of change. Think of implementing circular models, investing in alternative materials or rethinking product packaging. As an independent player, we take a critical and solution-oriented approach to every challenge.
SDG 4 – Quality education
Sharing technical knowledge and market insights is essential. Through advice, training and guidance, we build knowledge, both internally and with customers and suppliers. Lifelong learning is crucial for sustainable growth.
SDG 8 – Decent work and economic growth
We strive to create sustainable value for all our stakeholders: employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders. Our code of conduct and working methods are explicitly geared towards this.

Overview of key SDGs at GAASCH PACKAGING
From intention to action
Our sustainability strategy is given concrete form through the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO). Within this framework, we develop at least ten measurable actions each year, aligned with the SDGs. We take a pragmatic approach: goal-oriented, achievable and tailored to our activities.
In addition, we have our progress objectively assessed by Ecovadis. In 2025, we achieved a bronze medal in our first audit, placing us in the top 35% of the sector. This is confirmation of the work we are already doing and motivation to continue.
Looking ahead: building impact together
Our commitment to sustainability is not a one-off project, but a structural process. We continue to invest in partnerships, knowledge sharing and innovative solutions. We believe that a future-proof sector is based on cooperation, shared knowledge and realistic choices.
The direction has been set and progress has begun. Together with colleagues, customers and producers, we will continue to work on impactful solutions and a future-proof value chain. This is, of course, a living process that requires continuous change, flexibility and adaptation. At GAASCH PACKAGING, we are committed to pursuing these ambitions.
