Sustainable Entrepreneurship: Joining the VOKA Charter as a Milestone

Sustainable Entrepreneurship: Joining the VOKA Charter as a Milestone

Gaasch Packaging strengthens its sustainability journey by formally embedding sustainability into its operations, joining the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO). Through this program, we commit to taking concrete and measurable steps toward a future-focused and socially responsible business model.

At Gaasch Packaging, sustainability is a structural priority that allows us to respond to the challenges of tomorrow. Our focus includes:

  • environmentally responsible processes,
  • ethical supply chain management,
  • circular innovation,
  • social responsibility and inclusion.

VOKA, as an independent partner, supports us in translating these ambitions into an action plan based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participating companies commit to launching at least 10 tangible actions linked to the 5 core SDG pillars: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership.

OUR FOCUS AREAS

For Gaasch Packaging, this means:

  • reducing the environmental impact of our logistics,
  • promoting transparency and accountability across our supply chain,
  • enabling circular packaging innovation,
  • and increasing employee and stakeholder engagement in societal matters.

In the coming months, we will further develop these themes through internal and external workshops. Involvement of our team and partners will be essential in ensuring successful implementation and long-term impact.

A FORMAL COMMITMENT

This initiative is endorsed by the full management team and our Sustainability Coordinator. It builds on previous actions such as our 2022 signature of the Green Deal ‘Anders Verpakt’, a Flemish government initiative aimed at significantly reducing single-use packaging.

Our participation in the VCDO program aligns with our long-term commitment to responsible entrepreneurship, people-first thinking, and environmental care. It also provides a valuable opportunity to grow this commitment in collaboration with an experienced and independent partner.
